One of the first things you notice about these PowerBooks — after you admire their looks, and marvel at their fit and finish — is the number of ports they have. And that’s when the realization hits you: these models may be superslim and ultralight, but they also happen to be full-featured notebooks with an astonishing lineup of built-in professional capabilities.

Check out the strategically located ports: all three models feature FireWire and USB, with an additional FireWire 800 port on the 17-inch PowerBook G4. Need video out capabilities so you can connect to an external display or projector? The DVI port on the 17-inch and 15-inch models lets you do just that. In fact, the DVI port on the 17-inch and 15-inch PowerBooks and the VGA port on the 12-inch PowerBook can even detect when they are connected to an external display or projector (the system automatically displays to the external monitor when you connect it to the PowerBook). And all three PowerBook models feature S-video output for connecting to an analog TV.
Huge hard drives? You bet. How about a 56K modem? That’s standard across the line. Wireless connectivity? You got it. Bluetooth? It’s built in with the 17-inch and 12-inch models and is available for the 15-inch model. What’s more, the 17-inch and 15-inch models come with Gigabit Ethernet (10/100BASE-T Fast Ethernet on the 12-inch model).
