Other World Computing Return Policies
The following terms and conditions apply to merchandise returns:
  • Need a refund? »
    Other World Computing will allow a return for refund of most items* within 30 calendar days of the date your order originally shipped as long as you agree to pay a 15% restocking fee**, less the original shipping charge. The refund amount will also be based on the lesser of the invoiced price or our current selling price on the day the item is delivered to our warehouse. Items returned incomplete or not in original condition may be subject to additional fees or returned to the customer as non-refundable. Customer is responsible for shipping cost to return item. We are not able to offer refunds for displays, computers, clearance items, special order items, media, consumables, or opened/used software.

    **We assess this restocking fee because it costs time and money to process returns and Other World Computing works hard to provide quality products at the most competitive prices around to all of our customers. The restocking fee allows us to keep our prices low for everyone while still accommodating those who may need to return an item for a refund. Please be certain that you want an item before buying as it is not our preference to charge customers this fee. You also have the option to replace or exchange an item to reduce or avoid the restocking fee. Please see the Exchange terms for details.

    If you receive an item from Other World Computing and would like to return it you must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). To obtain an RMA #, you may fill out our online RMA Request form found here. You may also call 1-800-275-4576 (toll free) or 1-815-338-8685 (international), during our customer support hours.

    Please have the RMA number that you are issued clearly marked on the outside of the package you are returning and include a copy of your original invoice inside the package with the item returned circled. Items must be returned complete, unaltered, and with original product materials and packaging to prevent the possibility of additional fees or possible rejection of the item. ALL RMAs must be returned to Other World Computing within the lesser of 15 Calendar days from the date RMA is issued or within 30 calendar days of the original item invoice date. After 30 days from the invoice date, item is subject to Manufacturer's warranty as Other World Computing has advertised.

    When returning any item, the choice of return carrier and method is yours. Be aware that the shipping time involved varies with each carrier and to choose accordingly as not to exceed the return time allowed. You should also insure all shipments as Other World Computing is unable to process or reimburse you for a return shipment lost or damaged while in transit to us.

    If an item that is ineligible is returned, the cost to return it back to you, is yours.

    Shipments without a valid RMA number visible will be refused and returned unprocessed to the return address. An RMA attempted for delivery outside the specified time allowed may be refused at the sole discretion of Other World Computing.
  • Changed your mind and would like something different? »
    Other World Computing does allow the exchange of most items* within 30 calendar days from the original shipment date.

    Value of items being returned will be based upon the lesser of either the invoiced or current selling price of the item(s) returned. Should the exchange order be less than the credit available for the item(s) returned, a refund of this difference less 15% will be refunded via the method of payment originally billed. Freight for the delivery method chosen by the customer will be charged on the new exchanged order. By default, the original method of payment will be used for any additional charges where applicable. Item(s) being returned for exchange must be delivered to our warehouse with the correct RMA number within 30 days of the original invoice date, be complete with all original materials, and arrive undamaged in original received condition. We are not able to offer exchanges for displays, computers, consumables, clearance items, special order items, or opened/used software.

  • Having problems with an item and would like it replaced? »
    * Other World Computing will replace most products* determined to be defective, regardless of the manufacturer, within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, the manufacturer's warranty applies and you will need to contact the manufacturer for fulfillment of the warranty they provide. The customer is responsible for the shipping cost to return the item. In most cases, Other World Computing will pay to ship out the replacement item by the courier of our choice. Computers and multi-component products returned as defective will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Other World Computing.

    OTHER WORLD COMPUTING IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ITEMS SHIPPED TO US THAT ARE NOT LISTED AS BEING RETURNED. OWC IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOSS, CORRUPTION OR DESTRUCTION OF DATA ON ANY HARD DRIVE SHIPPED BACK AS PART OF A STORAGE SOLUTION, UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED IN THE PRODUCT WARRANTY SECTION OF THE PRODUCT INFORMATION PAGE ON MACSALES.COM. Other World Computing will not be held liable in any manner for the recovery or restoration of any data lost. To maximize your data protection, OWC recommends that you keep an additional copy of your data in a completely different location.

    Other World Computing sells a wide variety of products from multiple manufacturers and cannot control all aspects of manufacturing, delivery or use. As a result, OWC is not responsible for special, incidental, or consequential damages including but not limited to, lost profits, downtime, technician fees, goodwill, damage to or replacement of equipment and property, and any costs of recovering, reprogramming, or reproducing any program or data stored in or used with any product purchased from Other World Computing. Additionally, OWC is not responsible for any problem that is caused by (a) commercial use; accident; abuse; neglect; shock; electrostatic discharge; heat or humidity beyond product specifications; improper installation; operation; maintenance or modification; or (b) any misuse contrary to the instructions in the user manual; or (c) loss passwords; or (d) malfunctions caused by other equipment.

    Upon its receipt, the RMA is processed so a replacement item can be shipped back to you. We will also test the item you have returned to confirm that it is defective. If it is not defective, you will be contacted to determine how we should proceed. If it is defective, a replacement will be sent out immediately as long as the item is in stock.

    Shipments without a valid RMA number visible will be refused and returned unprocessed to return address. An RMA attempted for delivery outside the specified time allowed may be refused at the sole discretion of Other World Computing.

    Note: When a direct replacement for the exact model number or part number is not available, Other World Computing reserves the right to replace with an equivalent or higher graded item. A refund will be offered if this turns out to not be an acceptable solution for one or both parties.
