The CalDigit FASTA-6GU3 is the first of its kind, combining two next generation interfaces into a single card with throughput speeds of up to 6Gbps. With both USB 3.0 and 6G eSATA connectivity, the CalDigit FASTA-6GU3 provides a connection for the latest technology. The CalDigit FASTA-6GU3 card has been designed for the most demanding content creators. Applications like video editing, audio sweetening and photography are the perfect fit. |

The FASTA-6GU3 provides 2 eSATA ports with the latest SATA 6G technology, allowing for speeds of up to 6Gbps. The new FASTA-6GU3 is completely backwards compatible with legacy SATA devices. It also supports port multiplier enclosures and other devices like external optical drives. The FASTA-6GU3 is also the perfect addition to the CalDigit VR and or CalDigit VR mini.
The FASTA-6GU3 will work with an available 4x PCIe version 1 or 2 slot. The FASTA-6GU3 also supports hot plugging, so there is no need to restart the computer when connecting or disconnecting an eSATA device. The FASTA-6GU3 requires no driver for eSATA operation under OS X Lion.
The FASTA-6GU3 supports many popular features including, S.M.A.R.T., port multiplication, eSATA booting with OS X Lion and support for green and high performance SATA drives. It is also fully compatible with SATA I (1.5G), SATA II (3G) and SATA III (6G) drives.
While windows users have had access to USB 3.0 drivers for some time, there was never a driver for the Mac. CalDigit's engineers developed the first USB 3.0 driver for Mac OS X. For the first time, both Mac and PC users are able to take advantage of the superior speeds of USB 3.0. CalDigit is the only company to provide third party support for USB 3.0 devices on the Mac.
Ideal for fast storage, the FASTA-6GU3 was designed to provide the CalDigit AV Drive, CalDigit VR and CalDigit VR mini the fastest connection possible. Also, with new USB 3.0 and SATA 6G devices being announced everyday, the FASTA-6GU3 lets users take advantage of this next generation connectivity.
For applications in severs or other specialized computers where space is limited, the FASTA-6GU3 features a removable bracket design to fit into these low profiles machines. The small size accommodates most Mac and PC workstations. It also has a limited environmental footprint, using less power than most PCIe cards. The FASTA-6GU3 has been designed to run faster and cooler than other cards on the market.
Every CalDigit product is designed with high quality components and the FASTA-6GU3 is no exception. The CalDigit FASTA-6GU3 only requires a single PCIe slot, but provides two interfaces. This means multiple USB 3.0 and 6G eSATA devices can be attached without the need to take up valuable PCIe slots. All components from the card to the cables, have been tested using a special oscilloscope to ensure optimum performance. |
