The HDOne features true hardware RAID, which provides an independent CPU and dedicated cache memory to manage the RAID volume. The dedicated processor eliminates additional strain from the host system's CPU, allowing applications full access without added strain from a software based RAID system.
The HDOne features an Intel XScale processor with 256MB of fixed cache and provides Hardware RAID support for RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6 and JBOD. |

Protected
Out of the box, the HDOne has been configured for RAID 5, allowing it to operate even if a single drive fails. To further protect important data, the HDOne comes with RAID Shield. RAID Shield is the configuration and monitoring system that allows you to change RAID levels. For added protection, RAID 6 can sustain two drive failures without data loss, providing dual parity protection. |

Generous Capacity
The HDOne includes eight CalDigit certified SATA II drives providing generous speed and capacity. This results in performance that meets the needs of the most demanding software. With an external PCIe connection to the host, the HDOne leverages the latest 20Gb/s ePCIe technology. The HDOne is a high performance storage solution with capacities starting at 8TB. |

Smart & Manageable
Each HDOne features an environmental processor that monitors and manages all aspects of the system, such as the hard drives, RAID arrays, controller cache, fan, temperature, power supply and enclosure conditions. In the event of a problem, the HDOne is capable of sending out email notifications.
The HDOne comes with RAID Shield, CalDigit's powerful and easy to use RAID administration software. RAID Shield is capable of building multiple RAID sets on the fly with a variety of options such as: cache sizes, capacities, slices and a logical unit number. RAID Shield is entirely based on the TCP/IP architecture. This means that each HDOne can be monitored and managed from anywhere on the Intranet. Once setup, RAID Shield provides at-a-glance monitoring for multiple HDOne systems either locally or remotely. |

Visual Aid
Quickly monitoring the status of the HDOne is easy with CalDigit's intuitive LED indicator lights. The HDOne's indicator lights are conveniently located on the front panel of the enclosure. With just a glance, the user can easily monitor the status of the HDOne. There is also an audible alert signal, a system alert, as well as email notification. |

The HDOne is, beyond doubt, a truly mobile unit. In fact, CalDigit was one of the first companies to include configuration for laptops with its RAID storage systems. Because the HDOne is hardware RAID, it can work with any laptop that has a PCI Expresscard/34 slot with the addition of the eLane-1ex Expresscard/34.
