Drive drawers generally come in two pieces. One (the bay) is mounted in a standard 5.25 inch bay opening in the front of the computer. The other (the caddy) contains the hard drive. The removable caddy moves in or out of the bay on slides. When the caddy is seated in the bay, locked in place, and the key turned on, the connection between the hard drive and the computer SATA port is completed and the hard drive operates normally.
What Makes This Different?
No Caddy Needed! Once installed in your drive bay, you can insert and eject 3.5" SATA hard drives as easily as a floppy disk, tape backup system or flash memory card. Now you can separate and organize large groups of files onto their own hard drive. Perfect for video and/or photo archives, making cloned backups of your internal hard drive to be kept offsite for safety and security, or moving large blocks of data from one machine to another. |
