Intuit QuickBooks® for Mac 2012 continues to simplify bookkeeping for small business owners with features that help them get organized and save time, so they have more time to focus on their businesses.

New this year, QuickBooks for Mac helps make everyday tasks easier with batch entry of online banking transactions, progress invoicing, and improved search—all with a consistent Mac experience that Mac users expect. A redesigned user interface makes QuickBooks for Mac 2012 as simple, elegant, and easy to use as native Mac software.

Key New Features and Enhancements
  • Improved Search. Small businesses can find specific QuickBooks data faster than ever searching by keywords for customer or vendor names, transaction types, amounts, dates, and more. To refine search results, users can apply filters. Users can also access recent searches or save searches for future reference.

  • Customer History Panel. Small businesses can save time completing transactions with at-a-glance views of important customer details. The customer history panel summarizes key customer data, such as open balances and notes, right next to open invoices so completing transactions is fast and easy.

  • Transaction List. With transaction lists, small businesses can browse forms by criteria, such as date or customer, while entering invoices, expenses and sales receipts, eliminating the need to flip through old forms one by one.
  • Batch Entry of Online Banking Transactions.1 Small businesses can now add multiple transactions from their online bank accounts to QuickBooks at once, instead of entering each one individually. QuickBooks automatically creates rules to rename payees downloaded from online banking accounts to logical names.

  • Progress Invoicing. QuickBooks for Mac users now have the ability to invoice by line item or by percentage of job estimates. Progress invoicing makes it easy to track what has been invoiced, when, for what job, and what is left to invoice.

  • More Shortcuts and Contextual Menus. Users can save time accessing relevant functionality with keyboard shortcuts and contextual menus (i.e. right-click menus).
  • Default Bank Accounts. To help reduce mistakes, QuickBooks for Mac now allows users to set default bank accounts for key banking tasks.

  • Improved Journal Entries. Journal entries now feature next and previous buttons, auto-numbering, and auto-fill of the memo field for better navigation.

  • Duplicate Timesheets. QuickBooks for Mac 2012 users can save time entering similar timesheets by duplicating the last timesheet for an employee. An increased character limit in the notes section of timesheets allows employers to record more details.

  • Improved Tables.Tables offer adjustable columns and multi-line descriptions.
