Q: How do I tell what iPod I have?
A: If your iPod plugs in to charge via a cable at the TOP, you have a 1st or 2nd generation iPod. If your iPod plugs in via a DOCK CONNECTOR at the bottom and it's control buttons are above the scroll wheel, you have a 3rd generation iPod. If your iPod has a 60GB hard drive, uses USB for syncing, is either white, black or red and features a large, widescreen color display, a Click Wheel, and the capability of displaying photos and videos. then your iPod is a 5th Generation with Video and this battery will work fine.
