The OWC Mercury Rack Pro Enterprise Class Storage Solution is a four bay external mini-SAS hard drive enclosure configured as four independent hard drives, up to a maximum capacity of 16.0TB (4.0TB per hard drive mechanism).
The OWC Mercury Rack Pro features a single external mini-SAS interface, to not only reduce cable clutter, but to provide four full channels of data (one per drive) through a single external mini-SAS cable. It's like having four separate eSATA/SAS cables but in a single package.
Designed specifically to meet the demands of server, audio production, and video production environments, the OWC Mercury Rack Pro four Bay 1U Solutions provide data transfer rates of up to 24Gb/s data rates¹! Recommended mini-SAS Connecting Cables
- When using Passive/passthrough mini-SAS storage solutions equipped with "6G" 6Gb/s (SATA 3.0 Revision) drives, we strongly recommend only using connecting cables of 1 meter or shorter length due to the increased signal integrity requirements of 6G drives. Active storage solutions such as SAS expander systems equipped with 6G drives can utilize mini-SAS connecting cables up to 10 meters in length.
Macintosh System Requirements
- Mini-SAS cable included: 1M mini-SAS cable (included) is required for use with SATA/SAS 6Gb/s drives due to signal integrity requirements, longer cable lengths are not supported. When using SATA/SAS 3Gb/s drives, longer cable lengths (sold separately) can be used and are available here.
