A built-in sensor on the chipset detects when the solution's data cable is disconnected from a Mac or PC's native FireWire, USB, or eSATA interface and automatically spins down the solution to conserve energy during periods of disk inactivity. Ideal for notebook users who can go mobile without needing to reach around the solution to turn it off or unplug power cord.*
