This model is pre-configured for RAID-0 but can be user re-configured at any time for RAID-1, Span or Independent.
RAID 0 (Stripe)
Data is split into blocks over two or more drives at same time for high speed and large capacity.
RAID 1 (Mirror)
Data is written at same time to two drives only for highest level of data safety and redundancy.
NRAID (Span)
Combines capacity of two or more drives of the same size without any RAID data distribution scheme into one logical desktop volume. Will also combine the capacity of varying size drives based on the lowest capacity drive in the set.

Note: Because the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual mini offers three selectable RAID levels, your warranty coverage remains intact if you open the back plate to access the RAID dip switches only. For instructions on changing the RAID level from the preconfigured factory setting, please refer to the product manual.
Do not further disassemble or otherwise remove any components, including the drive mechanisms, on this OWC storage solution prior to the conclusion of OWC's 3 year Warranty period. Doing so will void the remainder of the OWC warranty.
