Although this is an Apple Rom/OEM optical drive, due to limitations of these in your specific Mac model you cannot boot from CD by holding the 'c' key down - all other functions are not affected. Further note, this does not in any way impact read or write capabilities of this drive in your specific Mac model.

For 12" G4 "Aluminum" systems, professional installation is highly recommended. If you would like professional installation, OWC offers that service too. Please contact us for more information.
