I didn't get any response to my last post, but tried a few things that I garnered from other posts I the meantime. However, I'm still having no luck. If anyone can help, I'd apppreciate it. I have a PM 7500 with a Sonnet G3 450 MHz card. I'm running OS 9.1, and am trying ot install OS 10.1.4 using XPostFacto 2.2.5. I'm installaling on an external HD, which is a 4 GB, freshly formatted with OS 9.1 drive setup. I launch XPostFacto, and choose the destination HD and installation CD, and let it go. The system reboots and eventually brings up the Mac OS X installation application. I shut off the other languages, and it starts the installation. It's well into the copying of data to the HD. It told me I had 35 minutes to go. After about 5-10 minutes, it crashes. Usually I get the blue screen, but this time I got some text to the screen (I chose "extra diagnostics") before it told me to hit return to restart. The text said... "Nov 2 [pax 92] Uncaught exception NSDistantObjectIsInvalid The Installation has unexpectantly quit (error 0) Press the return key to restart" I've tried un-interleaving the memory, and added a terminator to the external HD. It crashes at about the same place everytime. Does anyone have any thoughts what to try next? Thanks, John |
