The current USB 3.0 Qx2 (JMicron chipset) utilizes a staggered spin-up when first powering on the drives; the power draw is around 50 Watts. After the initial spin-up, normal-to-heavy usage will produce a power draw of about 38 Watts; this can vary by small amounts depending on the drive mechanisms being used.
