In many cases, all you get is OS X&#8217;s &#8220;generic&#8221; orange external drive icon. That&#8217;s fine, I suppose, if you&#8217;re only using one drive, but what if you have a <em>bunch<\/em> of external drives, like I do? That&#8217;s a <em>lot<\/em> of orange!<\/p>\n<p>All <a href=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/shop\/firewire\/\" target=\"_blank\">OWC and NewerTech External Storage Solutions<\/a>, however, not only come pre-formatted for OS X, but every drive has a custom icon that was specially designed to blend right in with Apple&#8217;s default icons, as if they were always part of the system.
