\"Print\"There\u2019s been a great deal of buzz surrounding the anticipated arrival of Angela Ahrendts<\/a> as the Senior VP of Retail & Online Stores at Apple last month. She comes with an amazing, and decidedly non-tech focused pedigree after years at the helm of UK fashion giant Burberry.<\/p>\n

Apple\u2019s only top-level female executive has already been busy bringing her vision of the future of Apple\u2019s retail to her new company with a focus on China, mobile payments and the evolution of the Apple store experience.<\/p>\n

Ahrendts also recently reached out via LinkedIn<\/a> with a conversational post discussing her insights on \u201cStarting Anew\u201d at Apple. She\u2019s disarmingly candid about her transition, likening Silicon Valley to a \u201ccountry unto itself\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"Burberrys-Angela-Ahrendts-640x558\"While at Burberry, Ahrendts apparently placed great emphasis on communication throughout the company and the importance of building relationships within teams as part of an overall approach to improving customer experience and she\u2019s obviously bringing the same approach to Apple.<\/p>\n

Ahrendts comes across as approachable, backed with a clear drive and dedication to leading Apple\u2019s retail growth. Her addition to Apple\u2019s leadership seems to perfectly fit with a movement toward greater social engagement from the executives. It\u2019s a continuation of the company\u2019s evolution from the tight-lipped Steve Jobs era where silence was golden and the device king, toward a more rounded, human side of a company that increasingly delivers a holistic lifestyle ecosystem rather than just phones, computers and music players.<\/p>\n

We certainly wish Ahrendts the best as she is a proven\u00a0inspiration, and we\u2019re excited to see\u00a0what\u00a0the future holds.<\/p>\n
