Well, sometimes it is, and this is definitely one of those times. Now that we have our hands on the new iMac with Retina 5K display that was announced at <a href=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/27019-the-wait-is-over-apple-unveils-new-ipads-macs-at-special-event\">Apple\u2019s special event<\/a> last week, we wanted to share our teardown.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the gallery at the bottom\u00a0to see what we found.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some noteworthy observations from the teardown:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The iMac 5K uses the same SSD found in the Late 2013-current MacBook Pro with Retina display, 2013-current MacBook Air, and 2014 Mac mini.<\/li>\n<li>The video card is soldered in.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Boot screen is black screen with a white logo and progress bar.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Also\u00a0n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">oteworthy, of course, are\u00a0the Thunderbolt 2 ports.
