\"Where's<\/a><\/p>\n

Now that you have an Apple Watch, you might find that you’re using your iPhone less to grab bits of information and\u00a0send messages. Of course, your Apple Watch won’t function without having an iPhone nearby, so\u00a0Apple built a very handy function into the Watch — a way to ping your iPhone so that you can quickly find it.<\/p>\n

\"Swipe<\/a><\/p>\n

The iPhone finder is easy to find. From the default watch display, swipe up to show Glances (see image above).\u00a0You want to see the first — or leftmost — Glance, as that’s the one that provides you with your iPhone finder and some other useful functions. If your Watch display is currently showing some other Glance, swipe to the right until you see the Glance displayed in the image below:<\/p>\n

\"Control<\/a><\/p>\n

This Glance supplies you with the current connection status between your iPhone and Apple Watch. If it’s not showing “Connected,” then your iPhone could be out of range or turned off. It also provides three buttons that toggle\u00a0Airplane mode, Do Not Disturb mode, and Mute mode. To find your iPhone, just tap the bottom button, the one with the icon that looks like an iPhone radiating noise.<\/p>\n

Each time you tap the bottom button, it will turn blue for a moment and then display the words\u00a0“Pinging iPhone” (see image below). Your iPhone will make a loud, sonar-like noise, hopefully allowing you to extricate from between a few couch pillows or from under a bed.<\/p>\n
