To ensure every frame is saved, people content creators are increasingly using fast, reliable SSDs and a complete backup of the RAW footage. The combination has saved many filmmakers from having to reshoot scenes (if at all possible) at their own expense or redoing their film without the benefit of important content.<\/p>\n

In her 30 years of supervising and shooting films around the world, Cirina Catania, of The Catania Group, had perfected her capture\/storage solution but her recent Amazon adventure documentary added a new set of restrictions.<\/p>\n

To protect her storage device from the harsh Amazon environment and conserve precious weight (under 2 pounds) and space, Catania chose a small, light sporting goods case. It proved to be such a great solution she now uses it for all of her shoots in the field.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Because the only way she could recharge her equipment was with solar power, she came to rely on her OWC SSD units because they were ultra-fast and reliable.<\/p>\n

While the storage devices are reliable in a wide range of environments, she wanted to make certain the 100-degree temperature and 87 percent humidity couldn\u2019t possibly affect her content during the shoot and the trip home.<\/p>\n

Even though special ruggedized camera and production cases were the obvious first choice for the project, they were also too large and heavy for a trip where size and weight were at a premium.<\/p>\n

Her solution was a lightweight, small waterproof case that can be purchased in any sporting goods store that would hold all of her film storage and still protect it from the environment.<\/p>\n
