The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus<\/a> will arrive in Austin for SXSW<\/a> in celebration of its twentieth anniversary, presenting a special showcase at The Belmont featuring Third Eye Blind on March 16. SXSW fans will also enjoy performances by Bob Schneider, Muddy Magnolias, Royal Teeth, and Finland\u2019s Tuomo & Markus. The showcase is sponsored in part by OWC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

OWC has sponsored the John Lennon Bus for the past three years, and the company is the official storage technology provider of the mobile studios.<\/p>\n

\u201cOWC is proud to offer continued support for the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus and their ongoing commitment to providing students across the country with the opportunity to discover and create music,”<\/i> OWC Founder and CEO Larry O’Connor said. “We are excited to be a part of this convergence of education and technology during the celebration at SXSW in Austin.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Fans of the Lennon Bus and its mission, Third Eye Blind will also be subjects of the latest episode of \u201cPerspective,\u201d the Lennon Bus\u2019 student-produced short film series<\/a> focusing on the career challenges of artists and professionals from all walks of life.<\/p>\n

Third Eye Blind is also celebrating the twentieth anniversary of their breakthrough self-titled release; their recollections of the early years will be included in the production. The project will feature the skills of students from the Austin Independent School District who will be working together under the guidance of the producer\/engineers who live on-board the mobile production facility year-round.<\/p>\n

About the John Lennon educational tour bus<\/strong>
\nThe John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a nonprofit state-of-the-art mobile Pro Audio and HD video recording facility that provides hands-on experiences for students of all ages. In its 20th year of touring, the Lennon Bus features the latest audio and video technology, gear and products. The concept began as an offshoot of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, dedicated to providing opportunities for both professional and amateur songwriters around the world; proceeds from which help support the Lennon Bus. The Lennon Bus travels across the U.S. and Canada year-round, providing free tours and workshops at schools, retailers, festivals, on tours with headlining artists, and at major industry conferences.
