However, this new addition to the list comes with a twist.<\/p>\n<p>Apple will include the 2012 MacBook Air models in its pilot program that it <a href=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/43830-apple-to-temporarily-allow-repairs-of-newly-vintage-imac-model\">introduced in February<\/a>, allowing for repairs to continue as long as the needed parts remain available. The Airs will be eligible for repairs at Apple Stores and authorized providers through Aug. 31, 2020 \u2013 two full years after its addition to the vintage list.<\/p>\n<p>Apple began the program with iMac models in February, but only in the U.S. and Turkey. As MacRumors points out, this is the first time the program will expand worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Vintage Apple products are those that have not been manufactured for more than 5 and less than 7 years ago. Apple discontinues hardware service for vintage products&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/HT201624\">in most cases<\/a>.
