(It\u2019ll kick off on Monday, June 3.)<\/p>\n<p>This means that means some older apps that haven&#8217;t been updated in awhile will cease to work. Thankfully, it\u2019s easy to tell if an app is 32-bit or 64-bit.<\/p>\n<p>As developers optimize their apps for 64-bit compatibility, Apple is notifying customers when they\u2019re using an app based on 32-bit technology via a one-time alert&nbsp;that&nbsp;appears when you launch a 32-bit app.&nbsp;In macOS Mojave, this alert appears once every 30 days when launching the app.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-48487\" src=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Graphic-one-2.jpg\" alt=\"App is Not Optimized for Mac\" width=\"401\" height=\"162\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Graphic-one-2.jpg 643w, https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Graphic-one-2-284x115.jpg 284w, https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Graphic-one-2-190x77.jpg 190w, https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Graphic-one-2-284x115@2x.jpg 568w, https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Graphic-one-2-190x77@2x.jpg 380w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 401px) 100vw, 401px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To check if an app is 32-bit or 64-bit, from the Apple menu, choose About This Mac, then click the System Report button. From the system report, scroll down to Software in the sidebar, then select Applications. When you select an individual application, you will see a field titled 64-bit (Intel). \u201cYes&#8221; indicates 64-bit; \u201cNo&#8221; indicates 32-bit.
