For a variety of reasons, you may wish to record a FaceTime call on your Mac. (I like to record the ones of me talking with my granddaughter!) Here\u2019s how to do it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Open QuickTime on your Mac from your Applications folder. Or you can use the macOS LaunchPad. Or \u2014 my favorite method \u2014 you can tell Siri to \u201cOpen QuickTime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Click File in the Menu bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Click New Screen Recording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the arrow next to the record button in the QuickTime window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Choose Internal Microphone from the list of available microphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Open FaceTime. Its icon should be in the Dock. If not, it\u2019s in the Applications folder. Or you can use the macOS LaunchPad. Or tell Siri to \u201cOpen FaceTime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Click the record button in QuickTime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the screen to record your whole screen, or click and drag over the FaceTime window to only record FaceTime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Begin your FaceTime call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the call is over, click the Stop Recording button in QuickTime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Click File in the Menu bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Select Save.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Name your recording, and select where you wish to store it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
