Yesterday was Earth Day, but that hasn’t stopped us from thinking green throughout “Earth Week.” OWC believes that environmental stewardship is not only the right thing to do for future generations, but it also makes good economic sense. From solar and wind power to geothermal heating and cooling systems to parking lot pavers designed to reclaim water, OWC works tirelessly to be environmentally conscious. But it’s not just our facilities and sustainable business model we care about, we also believe in the importance of assisting others and their green initiatives as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today we wanted to highlight a few of these partners we are happy to be supporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green Movies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

OWC regularly engages with environmentally-conscious organizations and artists. Current projects include Kiss the Ground<\/strong> and Eating Our Way to Extinction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kiss The Ground<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Kiss the Ground<\/a> inspires participation around climate, soil, food, and the future of Earth itself.<\/strong> They educate millions of people across the globe and provide pathways for everyone to participate in the movement. Through their leadership and farmland programs, they directly support farmers and their adoption of regenerative agriculture and cultivate leaders who can implement change at a community level and within the key sectors of business, policy, media, and education. They also create inspiring media, strong partnerships, and shift policy. One such project is the “Kiss the Ground” Film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The movie shows how regenerative agriculture can sequester the carbon from the atmosphere and balance the Earth\u2019s climate in a matter of decades. The movie is narrated by Woody Harrelson and features Tom Brady, Gisele B\u00fcndchen, Ian Sommerhalder, and Patricia Arquette \u2014 all strong advocates for environmental advancements. It has been accepted to the Tribeca Film Festival and will be distributed in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eating Our Way to Extinction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The creators behind the viral clip which Leonardo DiCaprio described as \u201cthe video future generations will be wishing everyone watched today\u201d are working on the Eating Our Way to Extinction<\/a> feature-length film. The cinematic documentary is set to premiere later this year and focuses on issues around the environment, health, compassion, and economics. It is one piece of an entire educational plan designed to reduce the consumption of food types that lead to increases in greenhouse gases and\/or the destruction of natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OWC is also continuing to work with Jam in the Van<\/a>, the world\u2019s first and only solar-powered mobile recording studio. Jam in the Van is a robust content workspace, video production house, and live event production team. They offer an authentic and engaging space where artists and fans can interact while crossing the country and visiting top music festivals. During this time, the studio is offering stay-at-home performances from artists that can be seen through their YouTube<\/a> and other social channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OWC has always believed the economic reality is that, with careful planning and a little team effort, sustainability is synonymous with success. We have always sought to provide customers with products that allow them to maximize the longevity of their technology products and to improve the performance of those products, keeping more electronics out of landfills for a longer period of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
