First, a user will enter their username and a password. Two-step verification is an older security method that is available to users who don\u2019t have Apple devices, can\u2019t update their devices, or are otherwise ineligible for two-factor authentication. To do so, launch Safari and click this link: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/appleid.apple.com\/manage\/security\/2sv\/enrollment\">Set up two-step verification now<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"byline\">These instructions apply, for the most part, to other versions of macOS besides Catalina.
