(The submenu shows up to 10 recently opened folders.)<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><strong>Desktop<\/strong> (\u21e7\u2318D): Choose folders on your, well, Desktop.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><strong>Downloads<\/strong> (\u2325\u2318L): Choose folders from your Downloads file.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><strong>Home<\/strong> (\u21e7\u2318H): Choose folders from your Home folder (which includes folders for Applications, Pictures, Music, Movies, and more).<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><strong>Computer<\/strong> (\u21e7\u2318C): Choose folders from your Mac\u2019s drive, attached drives, or from a network to which you\u2019re connected. A slash at the end indicates that this is a path to a folder, rather than a file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>tilde (~)<\/strong> indicates your home folder. Most of your personal folders, such as Documents, Music, and Pictures, are in your home folder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re having trouble finding a folder, make sure you\u2019re spelling its name correctly and typing the full path, including slashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also <strong>ask Siri<\/strong> to, for instance, \u201cOpen the home folder.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"byline\">These instructions apply, for the most part, to other versions of macOS besides Catalina.
