Need to change or set a return email address in the macOS Mail app? It\u2019s easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Mail open…<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
  1. Click \u201cMail\u201d in the upper left-hand corner of your screen.<\/li>
  2. Select “Preferences”<\/li>
  3. Select the “Composing” tab<\/li>
  4. Click \u201cAutomatically select best account\u201d<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Select the “from” address you want to be your default for all email responses<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    You\u2019ll see a list of your email accounts. Select the one that you wish to be the default return email address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    That said, the Mail app is pretty smart and is pretty much reliable at associating the email address with a particular account, which is why I don\u2019t set up a specific return address in Mail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Also, when you reply to an email, you can choose a different return email address than the one associated with the account. Just click and hold the From field and a list of all your email addresses will pop up. Choose the one you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
