However, a couple of days ago, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patentlyapple.com\/patently-apple\/\">Patently Apple<\/a>, who follows such things, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patentlyapple.com\/patently-apple\/2010\/08\/the-mother-lode-welcome-to-the-imac-touch.html\">reported on one potential device<\/a> that we couldn\u2019t resist talking about.<\/p>\n<p>This particular patent, submitted in January, appears to be for an iMac with an ability to \u00a0switch between OS X and iOS, depending on how the screen is oriented and\/or gripped.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, there are pros and cons to this, so we got some brief reactions from various staffers here at OWC to see what they thought:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201ckinda like a stationary iPad&#8230;but with more power and functionality (dual OSs)\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/author\/grant\">OWC Grant<\/a><\/li>\n<li>\u201cDon&#8217;t need it, unless it&#8217;s iOS4 or make a bigger version of the current iPad&#8230;the Super iPad.\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/author\/mhoormann\">OWC Mike H.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>\u201cI can&#8217;t wait to find my three-year-old on my desk shaking my iMac back and forth playing Doodle Jump&#8230; of course, I would probably be next in line.\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/author\/owc-erik\">OWC Erik<\/a><\/li>\n<li>\u201cThis would be a great start if Apple is trying to compete with PC in the retail marketplace. Touchscreen computers make for excellent POS terminals, interactive sales displays, and the like.\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/author\/mperry\">OWC Michael<\/a><\/li>\n<li>\u201cJust what I want\u2014a 27-inch iMac screen with fingerprints all over it&#8230; The adjustable display stand is cool though.\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/author\/cstevens\">OWC Chris S.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>\u201cSales of microfiber cloths are about to go through the roof.\u201d &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/author\/owc-jamie\">OWC Jamie<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course, all this is mere speculation based off of a patent.
