For instance, it can help you resolve or isolate problems that you\u2019re having.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you start up in Safe Mode, your Mac prevents some software, such as startup items, from loading. It also performs a check of your startup disk to see if any issues you\u2019re experiencing are caused by software that loads as your desktop or laptop boots up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, starting up in Safe Mode is slightly different on the M1 Macs (which currently include the 2020 Mac mini, 13-inch MacBook Air, and 13-inch MacBook Pro) than it does on an Intel-based Mac.
