Sometimes you end up with lots of open windows that you may wish to merge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"footnote\"><em>Note: Don\u2019t confuse the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Finder_(software)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Finder<\/a> with the Desktop. The Finder is the first thing that you see when your Mac finishes starting up. It opens automatically and stays open as you use other apps. It includes the Finder menu bar at the top of the screen and the&nbsp;Desktop&nbsp;below that. The Desktop is the space where you see the file, folder, and application windows.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-default\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-merging-windows-on-a-mac\">Merging Windows on a Mac<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Only one app at a time is active<\/strong>. Its name and its menus are visible in the menu bar.
