Conveniently, there are various ways to deal with this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you copy text from the web, you\u2019re likely also copying the text\u2019s color, size, typeface, and more. Paste this text into a word processing app or an email and the results look out of place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-there-s-a-keyboard-command-combo-for-that\"><strong>There\u2019s a keyboard command combo for that<\/strong>. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>macOS lets you paste text without its original formatting. And when you do want to paste with formatting, use &#8220;Edit &gt; Paste.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-default\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-then-there-s-textedit\"><strong>Then there\u2019s TextEdi<\/strong>t<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Then there\u2019s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/guide\/textedit\/welcome\/mac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TextEdit<\/a><\/strong>, the text editor that comes with your Mac. It uses Rich Text by default, so you&#8217;ll have to press &#8220;Cmd + Shift + T to convert the document to plain text after pasting.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, you can set TextEdit to always use plain text files.
