The sharing options on your iPhone are useful, to say the least, and anyone who has ever had to get that one picture from their phone to their email knows just how easy Apple makes it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h-did-you-know-that-similar-menu-options-exist-in-finder\"><strong>Did you know that similar menu options exist in Finder?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-meet-the-share-menu\">Meet the Share Menu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Share Menu<\/strong> is a great not-so-hidden tool built right into the macOS Finder. It works a lot like you are used to from your mobile device, allowing you to take something from Finder, such as a folder, image, or even webpage, and share it with various other places, people, and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a video editor, I\u2019m constantly in need of sharing files on my computer, especially when working in a collaborative environment with other team members who work nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-so-what-can-the-share-menu-do-exactly\">So what can the Share Menu do exactly?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"indent-10px wp-block-list\"><li>Share files and folders via <strong>AirDrop<\/strong> to nearby Apple users<\/li><li>Share files right to a new <strong>email<\/strong> message<\/li><li>Send files and websites via <strong>Messages<\/strong><\/li><li>Add websites to your <strong>bookmarks<\/strong><\/li><li>Create new <strong>notes<\/strong> or <strong>reminders<\/strong> with links to your files or folders<\/li><li>Add images into <strong>Photos<\/strong><\/li><li>Connect to other <strong>third party software<\/strong> like Aspera or OneNote<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-use-the-share-menu\">How to use the Share Menu<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As an Apple user, you are likely familiar with this icon: <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"30\" height=\"30\" class=\"wp-image-74098\" style=\"width: 30px;\" src=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/share-menu-button.jpg\" alt=\"macOS share button icon\"\/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, you can find that exact same menu right in Finder. From here, I can perform several actions. Well, the Share Menu is great for that too! It\u2019s incredibly easy to use, so you don\u2019t need a ton of technical proficiency to use it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I might sometimes use this menu to set <strong>Notes<\/strong> and <strong>Reminders<\/strong> for myself. Right-clicking on any files or folders on your computer is also a great way to call up the Share Menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-safari\">Safari<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Another great use of the Share Menu is while surfing the web. To avoid accidentally ever pressing it, I\u2019ve simply disabled it from the menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, I often save documents to my Notes, so I\u2019ve made sure to keep that selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a video professional, you might be using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/downloads\/cas\/KGR6GV9B?loc=ch-de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aspera Drive<\/a>, which also has a Finder Share Menu integration, however other desktop-syncing cloud storage services like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dropbox<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.box.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Box.com<\/a> do not integrate with the Share Menu. If you are a business owner and need to consider computer hardware for your team, Apple products offer robust tools for sharing content between users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a video editor, I\u2019ve worked both in an office and remotely. I find myself using the Share Menu almost daily, probably multiple times daily, while working in a collaborative team environment.
