For example, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max have a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/78590-macro-photography-on-the-iphone-13-pro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">macro mode<\/a><\/strong> for incredible close-up images. Today we&#8217;ll discuss another new feature available on all of the iPhone 13 phones &#8212; <strong>Photographic Styles<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-are-photographic-styles\">What are Photographic Styles?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A Photographic Style customizes how the Camera app captures photos. It does this by adding four preset styles in addition to the standard way it shoots pictures. These preset styles are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Rich Contrast<\/strong> darkens shadows, saturates colors, and increases contrast for a more dramatic look<\/li><li><strong>Vibrant<\/strong> brightens and saturates colors for a more brilliant look<\/li><li><strong>Warm<\/strong> adds yellowish undertones for a warmer look<\/li><li><strong>Cool<\/strong> makes the undertones bluish for a cooler look<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are five pictures of the same subject taken with each of the presets:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Photographic_Style_Comparison.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-78798\" width=\"700\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Photographic_Style_Comparison.jpg 1400w, https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Photographic_Style_Comparison-284x69.jpg 284w, https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Photographic_Style_Comparison-190x46.jpg 190w, https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Photographic_Style_Comparison-284x69@2x.jpg 568w, https:\/\/eshop.macsales.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Photographic_Style_Comparison-190x46@2x.jpg 380w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption>iPhone 13  styles<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It may not appear that there are huge differences between these images, but upon closer examination it&#8217;s possible to see that each is subtly different. Particularly when taking images outdoors, changing the style can make a big difference in the look of a photo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t like these presets? You can customize them yourself by adjusting the tone and warmth values. Once you&#8217;ve created your own style, it can be applied each time you shoot a photo during a session. On the bottom are a button to get rid of the row of buttons, the shutter button (center) and a button to switch between front and back cameras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the button is tapped, you&#8217;re prompted to &#8220;Swipe to customize the camera&#8221;. That Photographic Style remains active until you move away from the Camera app. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-change-photographic-styles\">Change Photographic Styles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps the style you selected needs just a little tweak before you take your photo. While swiping the sliders in Rich Contrast you may notice that moving tone can change the overall style to Standard or Vibrant, while changing warmth creates styles called Rich Warm and Rich Cool. Likewise, changing warmth in the Vibrant style creates Vibrant Warm and Vibrant Cool styles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-practice\">Practice!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Practicing with the Photographic Styles controls before you need them is a great idea! You&#8217;ll know what the controls do to make your image look different before you shoot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like a Photographic Style so much that you&#8217;d want it applied to every photo you take?
