Click the icon to toggle the display between filmstrip and list modes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/guide\/final-cut-pro\/selections-and-filmstrips-ver285800a\/mac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Filmstrip mode,<\/a> you can adjust how much of the clip you see. This way you can see the contents of your video clip instead of just a single frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-creating-your-first-final-cut-pro-project\">Creating your first Final Cut Pro project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, you\u2019ll create your project and start your edit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Press Command+N to make a new project and accept the default settings.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/guide\/final-cut-pro\/skim-media-vere9ba3609\/mac#:~:text=In%20Final%20Cut%20Pro%2C%20choose,clip%20skimming%20is%20turned%20on.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Skim<\/a> your footage by dragging your playhead, or Skimmer, over your clip.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Once you have identified a section that you want to use, skim to the first frame of that section and press I. \u201cI\u201d stands for <em>In Point<\/em>. That\u2019s the beginning of the clip you want to insert into your project.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Skim to the end of the clip that you want to use, and press O with your cursor on the frame that you want to end on. \u201cO\u201d stands for <em>Out Point<\/em>.<\/li><li>Press E.&nbsp;<\/li><li>In the new dialog box that opens, click Confirm. Boom! You\u2019ve edited your first video clip with Final Cut Pro.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Repeat this process for each clip you want to add: I for the in point, O for the out point, and E to append it to the end of the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-finishing-exporting-and-posting-your-video\">Finishing, exporting, and posting your video<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve edited, added, and sequenced your clips, click in the main timeline that you are building and press the spacebar to play the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have recorded HDR videos on your iPhone and they look super bright, apply the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/guide\/final-cut-pro\/convert-or-adjust-hdr-clips-verbf72f3e96\/mac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HDR Tools filter<\/a> with the HLG to Rec. 709 setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019re satisfied with your video, press the keyboard shortcut Command+E to export your video. You can select H.264 as the typical format for exporting.
