The company also announced the event on Twitter, noting that the event would get underway at 1 p.m. Eastern\/10 a.m. Pacific.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The in-person event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater and live-streamed on Apple.com on Sept. 7. You&#8217;ll be able to stream the event live on Apple.com or within the Apple TV app on your Apple TV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-will-apple-announce-sept-7\">What will Apple announce Sept. 7?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-new-iphone-14-lineup\">New iPhone 14 lineup<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The new iPhone 14 lineup will be the main attraction for the Sept. 7 event and there are several major changes expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-iphone-14-pro-and-pro-max\">iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>First, on the iPhone 14 Pro models, Apple is rumored to be ditching the notch that has been present on iPhone devices since the introduction of the iPhone X. Replacing the notch on the Pro devices will be a hole-punch front-facing camera paired with a new pill-shaped cutout for the necessary imaging components that power Face ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Second, Apple is expected to add a new always-on mode for the Pro displays. This would likely work like the always-on feature on recent Apple Watches where Apple uses OLED display technology to reduce the refresh rate of the screen to a very low level, allowing the screen to display nearly static content without wasting battery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-iphone-14-no-more-mini\">iPhone 14 &#8211; No More Mini<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>On the iPhone 14 models, the changes are a bit less substantial. The major change coming to the non-Pro lineup is that Apple is nixing the mini model after two generations. You&#8217;ll still have two size options, but they&#8217;ll now mirror the Pro lineup: iPhone 14 is expected to stay the same 6.1-inch size as iPhone 13, while the new larger model will have a 6.7-inch screen. It&#8217;s unclear if this one will be called iPhone 14 &#8220;Max&#8221; or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-new-apple-watches\">New Apple Watches<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Apple is expected to introduce the Series 8 Apple Watch lineup during the September event as well. The big rumors with regard to watches, according to The Verge, is that Apple is expected to add a body temperature sensor to the Series 8 models, while revising the Apple Watch SE with a faster chip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The big rumor in Apple Watch land however is that Apple has been working on a new high-end pro version that will have a bigger screen, longer battery life, and rugged construction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apple has confirmed its next product event will be Sept. 7, 2022.
