UPDATE: <\/strong>Blackmagic Design has officially announced DaVinci Resolve for iPad. The app will be available as a free download from the App Store in Q4 with an upgrade to DaVinci Resolve Studio for iPad available as an in-app purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The iPad app will support cut and color pages, color finishing tools, HDR workflows, and the ability to collaborate with multiple users through Blackmagic Cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blackmagic says the app is optimized for Apple Silicon with the new M2 iPad Pro delivering 4x faster Ultra HD ProRes render performance over the M1 iPad Pro. However, the app will support at least the 12.9-inch M1 model. The release notes that HDR is editing is supported on that device as well. The app will also support sending a clean feed grading monitor output to an Apple Studio Display, Pro Display XDR or an AirPlay compatible display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DaVinvi Resolve for iPad will create and support standard DaVinci Resolve project files meaning you’ll be able to move your projects between your laptop or desktop computer running DaVinci Resolve 18. Supported file formats include H.264, H.265, Apple ProRes and Blackmagic RAW, with clips able to be imported from the iPad Pro internal storage and Photos library, or externally connected iCloud and USB-C media disks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with the news of a new Apple TV 4K<\/a>, iPads<\/a>, and powerful new iPad Pros<\/a> was a pleasant surprise: Blackmagic has a DaVinci Resolve iPad app in the works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In both the press release for the new M2-powered iPad Pros and an mini event video Apple released today there is mention of a desktop-class DaVinci Resolve iPad app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, if you search for it in the App Store, you’ll see that it’s not yet launched. In the video Apple mentions that the app is “coming .”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
