If you\u2019re like me, youreceive a lot  of junk eMails daily. You probably scan them to make make sure that they really are junk. Then you delete all that are. It\u2019s a cumbersome process. However, with macOS Ventura Mail, you can configure your Mail accounts to auto-delete junk mail:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b0 <\/strong>Open the Mail<\/strong> app,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b0 Click Mail<\/strong> > Settings<\/strong> on the menu bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b0 <\/strong>Select the Accounts<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b0 Select<\/strong> an account and click Mailbox Behaviors<\/strong>. (I\u2019ve chosen my Comcast account in the graphic below.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b0 Click the Junk Mailbox<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b0 Below Junk Mailbox<\/strong>, you\u2019ll see Erase junk messages<\/strong>. This is probably set to \u201cNever.\u201d However, you can click the drop-down box and choose when to delete junk email automatically. You can choose from \u201cafter one day,\u201d \u201cafter one week,\u201d \u201cafter one month,\u201d or \u201cwhen quitting mail.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b0 Click the Trash Mailbox<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b0 Below Trash Mailbox<\/strong>, you\u2019ll see Erase deleted messages<\/strong>. This is probably set to \u201cNever.\u201d However, you can click the drop-down box and choose \u201cautomatically.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll hav to repeat the process for all your email accounts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6)<\/strong> Next, do the same steps as 4 and 5 above to confirm the mailbox and automatically erase your Trash Mailbox<\/strong> messages (deleted emails).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do this for each account in the Mail app, and you\u2019re set. Keep in mind that the options may differ depending on the type of email account you have. For instance, if you have an exchange account, you won\u2019t get to select the junk or trash mailboxes described above.
