Previously, we looked at how to use Time Machine to back-up your files <\/a>in macOS Ventura. Now let\u2019s look at how to restore your Mac\u2019s data from a Time Machine backup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You do this via Apple\u2019s Migration Assistant. It can use your Time Machine backup to restore your personal files, including apps and everything in your user account. Here\u2019s how (assuming you don\u2019t have to reinstall macOS, which is a topic for a different column):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b0 Make sure that your Time Machine backup disk is connected to your Mac and turned on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b0 Launch Migration Assistant. You\u2019ll find it in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b0 You\u2019ll be asked how you want to transfer your info.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Large transfers might need hours to complete. I\u2019d recommend starting he process before going to bed at night. After Migration Assistant is done, quit the utility, then log in to the migrated account on your Mac to see its files.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
