Apple has released its first software update for its latest Mac operating system and it contains a very important fix for a subset of Mac users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 is available now and Apple says it fixes a bug that prevented M3 Ultra Mac Studio users from upgrading to the new OS. Here are the release notes directly from Apple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This update provides important bug fixes, security updates, and resolves an issue that prevented some users from upgrading to macOS Tahoe on Mac Studio (M3 Ultra, 2025).<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re an M3 Ultra Mac Studio user that wants to upgrade, you should be able to do so now without worry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is of course if you even want<\/em> to upgrade in the first place. Since the release of macOS Tahoe, there have been countless Mac users sounding off on social media about how they wish they had not updated to Tahoe due to the operating system’s new Liquid Glass<\/a> design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A quick browse of the r\/macOS<\/a> community on Reddit shows post after post of Mac users unhappy with the new design. There are complaints about everything from software bugs, UI inconsistencies, and, most notably, the removal of Launchpad<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our own first impressions<\/a> of macOS Tahoe, we noted thiat there are some welcome new features and found that we didn’t run into any show-stopping bugs. However, we have to agree with the overall opinion of what feels like many Mac users out there: this early incarnation of Apple’s new design direction leaves a lot to be desired<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
