Rating: 4/5 Good customer service January 16, 2017 I received my order, it was complete ( 4 sets of earbuds) but one of earbuds did not work on one side. Expecting a lengthy authorization return process I called customer service and was told that I would be sent a replacement and in my case would not need to return the defective earbuds! The replacement earbuds arrived a few days later. Very good experience over all.

They continue to sound great. I would recommend treating them with greater respect, but these are very well made. And the price was ridiculously low.

Rating: 3/5 Atypical earbuds with typical problems October 9, 2015 Like most earbud 'phones, these don't fit my ears well — not a product defect! The asymmetrical cables are intended to throw the main cable to one side and reduce tangling, but I am not sure the variance from standard design is worth it. Otherwise, they fulfill their function. I would still prefer two connected earphones with a head- or neck-band..

Rating: 5/5 Crazy good deal January 20, 2014 I needed earphones for my students for individual listening activities at the computer. Schools have no money so I had to pay. These are the cheapest I have found that actually work--I paid more, elsewhere, for three no-name pairs which turned out to have only one working earpiece each. But on top of actually working, these NT earphones don't sound aggressive. You can actually listen for 20 minutes without getting fatigued. No, they're not the equal of hundred-dollar types but why should they be?! No idea how durable they'll turn out to be in long-term use, but still a great deal.

Rating: 5/5 Plenty of Bass for a $3...no, a $30, earbud May 11, 2013 These are a substantial product for an insignificant price. Not sure what others are hearing, but the earbuds I got sound great. First, they're heavier than any earbuds I've owned. I assume this is due to an oversize magnet/driver design. Each bud is angled slightly from the driver so that they fit more solidly into the ear canal. Second, they have a small "port" (hole) on the back of each bud that directly affects the ability of the earbud to produce bass. I assume this port has the same function as the bass port in larger speakers: it allows more air movement within the bass cavity. And air movement is what produces bass. If you cover the port with your finger, the earbud goes flat and lifeless. The downside of these earbuds is the "one side longer than the other" design. Despite the prose hype in the description, this means you can't neatly put them away without tangles. This means you constantly have a cord dangling awkwardly somewhere. And it also means we get a killer deal on some great sounding buds. I bought ten during the last special so shipping was free, and I'm buying ten more. These oughtta last me and my two teens a couple of years, and still leave room to hand off a few pairs to friends in need. So far the only casualties are losing them. Between the three of us, we've not had any fall apart. While I'm not qualified to compare these to more expensive earbuds because I know better than to spend big bux on something I'll misplace, I did buy my teen a pair of $200 headphones for Christmas. And my other teen is a budding musician. We listen to lots of music at our house. They also, both of them, give these headphones two thumbs up each.

Rating: 4/5 How can you go wrong for $3?? April 29, 2013 At the time of this review (April 29, 2013) this is my first day I've used them.

In regards to no noise canceling, when you have the music on, yes it cancels a decent amount of outside noise out. When there's no music (in between tracks, paused, etc) it's like there's nothing in your ears.

Bass: very little bass, although I'm used to my Sennheiser HD280 over the ear headphones. However, in my opinion, it's a decent amount of bass for earbuds.

It does, however, seem to muffle the audio, so I have to set my EQ on my iPhone/iPod to R&B and turn up the volume and it suddenly sounds a MILLION times better!!

Rating: 5/5 Can't go wrong for $5 December 23, 2011 I don't know what the other reviewers expected but for me these headphones are an insane bargain. These blew away my Klipsch $100 headphones for sound quality,fit and noise reduction. I own about 8 pair of headphones. These cheap ones are way up there on the mike+on-off-switch-non-electronic headphones. i use them 90 percent of the time. the cord is also heavy rubber like apple buds that are easy to untangle and don't transmit cord bump noise to your ears. Who cares if you leave $5 headphones in a cab?

I read that review, and -still- ordered, thinking "they ought to be worth at least the promotional price as a backup set to keep in a travel bag or jacket pocket." Guess what? There's -no- bass. There's no warmth to be had from the sound. They are "42% noise cancelling" which means you can still hear the idiot screaming into their cell phone 3 seats away from you on the bus just fine. I went through every setting on my iPod's EQ and couldn't save them. If you could somehow combine "bass boost" with "classical'," -maybe-. Unlike the other reviewer, they actually did seem to fit in my ear OK. Also, if you can get past the horrible overall unevenness of the frequency response, the clarity and imaging is better than the Griffins or the Chromeofidelis I always use. Additionally, they are very efficient, as advertised. I thought I could save them by taping over the "port" and effectively turning them into 'sealed' rather than 'bass response,' but that destroys the sound completely. So, not worth the price to me. Maybe to you.

Rating: 1/5 No bass or noise reduction at all August 15, 2011 With this particular type of earbud it is important that the fit of the bud be good for your ear, so my review of these buds is probably skewed as these don't fit my ears.

I currently own a set of the Bose IE2 headphones which, while nice sounding, do not cut out any ambient noise. This is problematic for me because I have to use them when playing in my church's band as they don't use any stage monitors.

I came across the NewerTech earbuds and for the price (since they're currently on sale) I figured "What the heck. I'll give them a go." The specs on these earphones state that these earbuds should reduce ambient noise up to 42db (which is a ton).

The problem is that they don't fit my ears at all. This may not be a problem if they provided other tips. The included tip just simply doesn't go deep enough into the ear canal to provide the proper seal.

If I happen to find other tips that work I may change my review, but until then be aware of this limitation.
