I have an Early 2008 24" iMac. A few years ago I had some issues with the superdrive and after a frustrating few months where the drive would sporadically fail during a movie or an installation. I was still under warranty and finally contacted apple to get it repaired. I saw how the technician took the iMac apart with a pair of suction cups and wondered if I would be able to get them by the time the next problem occurred and I was without warranty. A few years later my wife was having issues with her iMac (2007) and we had to pay $80 to install a new one, plus the hard drive, plus a trip to the technician to drop off and a second trip to pick up.
When it was time to replace the hard drive on my children's iMac(2007), I was happy to find the suction cups available on OWC. I was a little nervous about the install but the installation videos on OWC were easy to follow, even though they listed the hard drive install as involved. I was able to replace the hard drive easily and saved some money and time on the install. This past weekend I had to replace the hard drive on my iMac and the suction cups were used again.
I also purchased the NewerTech 14 piece toolkit and these tools made the jobs of replacing the hard drives a lot easier.
I am so happy I found them here and would recommend them to any owner of an iMac that is out of warranty.
If you are a mac user OWC should be a first stop for any peripheral or replacement part purchase. The times when I have spoken to presales representatives, they have been informative and have always been happy with their recommendations. I have been shopping here for years and expect to continue in the future.
