Rating: 5/5OWC makes upgrading memory super easyJune 7, 2014Thanks to the OWC "how to" video, the new memory modules were easy to install and doubling the memory really improved the performance of my MBP. I shipped the original modules to OWC (to buy back), and they sent me a check. Couldn't have gone better. Rating: 5/5Excellent!!February 6, 2014MacBook Pro 8,1 Easy install, and great performance boost! Installed along with 120GB 3G SSD + Data Doubler, and upgraded to OSX Mavericks and WOW what a difference! Clocked with old hardware, and it took 50 seconds from dead off to login screen. Clocked with new hardware and it took only 15 seconds! Worth it! Rating: 5/5I wanted to smash my Mac MiniNovember 7, 2013I've had my 2011 Mac Mini for a couple years now. I had a difficult time seeing what the appeal was with Apple. I do love my iPhone, but I had thought for a long time their computers and software stunk. It would take FOREVER for the simplest program to load. If I had two programs open, plan on at least a five minute freeze. Everything was always so sluggish.
I was totally ready to go back to Windows. I decided to try a RAM upgrade after doing a little research. Here is what I learned.
Any Mac equipped with only 2 GB's of RAM, is like having a Corvette with a 4 cylinder engine. It is NOT acceptable. Barely capable. I know now in the future to order more RAM, better yet, buy and install more RAM yourself from macsales.com! I feel like a walking advertisement for these guys right now (and I am!)
I watched the tutorial on how to install the RAM, and it was a breeze! I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff, and I bet it didn't take 5 minutes. No tools needed.
My Mac Mini is now BLAZING fast! The boot time, the programs opening and running, MULTIPLE programs running without lag! I am a very happy camper. I could have saved months of headaches and frustration. I should have done this long ago.
If you have the factory default 2 GB RAM, and it's running as slow as a slug, upgrade it to 8 GB RAM and be prepared to be blown away! It's the easiest upgrade EVER!
