I recently updated the memory of my iMac (Late 2009) from the original 4Gb of Memory to 16Gb of memory. The experience I had from purchasing online to shipment and then installation, was simply AMAZING!! I live in Hawaii, where normally it takes forever, to receive a shipment and shipping can sometimes be very costly. I ordered my memory upgrade on Monday, was notified that it was shipped that SAME DAY, and received it 2 days later (Wednesday) and there was NO SHIPPING COST! The installation was very easy (as the tutorial indicated) and I was able to upgrade in less than ten minutes! I have a late 2009 27" iMac that I love. It has been painless and responding thru many system upgrades. This last upgrade, El Capitan, has slowed it down a lot. So I decided to get some help. I had it clean and a SSD added where the dvd drive was. But every attempt to add another 8 g to an existing 8g of ram was met with failure. It would not recognize it, it would crash, it would simple not start. So I looked up the EXACT specifications of the ram needed and bought 16g go all the same. It booted up and has been running perfect (and much faster) since. Thank you. I would recommend this item to a friend!

Bought this for my late 2009 iMac 27-inch and am extremely satisfied. Shipping was fast, and product was professionally sealed/packaged. When I made the upgrade to OS X El Capitan, my iMac could not handle the new operating system. Applications loaded very slowly and certain web pages would overload the system. With the installation of the 16.0GB ram, which was fairly easy to install, I am noticing apps like iTunes, Firefox, and general applications popping up faster. OWC's website made it easy for me to find recommended upgrades for my machine. I highly recommend you buy these for that old iMac you thought didn't have anything left in it. I've done very little computer upgrading on my own, but the MacSales video and sales rep convinced me it would be a snap. And it was. I snapped the new memory cards into my iMac, after snapping the old ones out, and I have a nearly new computer for a fraction the cost of buying a new one.
So far everything works perfectly. If these parts hold up for years, it will be a bargain. Now my aging computer can handle the numerous updates Apple throws at me without getting so many spinning pinwheels.

10 minute upgrade

Own a 21.5" iMac with 8 GB RAM which I upgraded to operating system El Capitan. Felt the new operating system would be better supported with 16 GB RAM. Took a few minutes to swap out the RAM and then tested the new RAM with both TechTool Pro and Drive Genius. Passed both tests perfectly. Was able to send in my old RAM for a trade-in as soon as I was done. MacSales/OWC was so easy to work with. Their information on performing the RAM swap was perfect. This memory fixed my problems big time

I had been getting increasingly slow performance out of my late 2009 iMac computer, which only had 4 GB of RAM. After looking at a few listed vendors of replacement RAM for this Mac, I found that only OWC had it in stock. Ordering was easy, delivery was fast, and the online instructional video (about 3 minutes) enabled me to accomplish swapping out my two 2GB DIMMs for four 4 GB DIMMs. The increase in speed and performance of my iMac was a wonder to behold. Now I'm not sure why I waited so long to take care of this.
