For iPod 5 Generation and Later

  • Dramatically increase existing iPod storage capacities

Classic on the Outside. Modern on the Inside.
Tarkan's iFlash-Dual allows you to install an SDHC or SDXC storage card in place of the HDD to modernize your classic model iPod. Use with one SD card in standard mode, or two SD cards in mixed JBOD mode for even greater storage capacity. With Tarkan iFlash-Dual you will fall in love with your iPod all over again.
Give your iPod another nine lives in just three easy steps.

  1. Remove your iPod's current HDD
  2. Insert one or two SDHC or SDXC flash card, up to 256GB, into iFlash-Dual
  3. Install iFlash-Dual into your iPod

With Tarkan iFlash-Dual installed, you can store your music, movies and photos on non-volatile flash memory with faster access times and better skip protection than the original HDD that came with your iPod.

This is your classic iPod, only better.

Note: 6th Generation iPod Classic (80, 160, and 120GB) are limited to 128GB due to software limitations in the OS.

Rating: 5/5 for Storage: yes. slow to boot though August 20, 2016 I’m giving this 5 stars even though whenever the iPod reboots it takes extra long to start playing its first song with a single 500GB SDXC card in the adapter. This is a limitation of the hardware, not the flash nor the card. I was able to load up over 460GB after formatting into an iPod 5th gen using only 1 slot. I plan on getting another card soon. I chose from the list of compatible cards and have no complaints. The only caveat is listed above. Note: if you keep your iPod on standby, it will rake no more time than with the stock drive to load and play a track. Also, switching songs is noticeably snappier, so I can tell the product and a fast card are faster & figure the extra long boot time is because of the size of the card I’m using takes longer to load the indices into memory. (In the pic you can see the size of the card listed.)

Soon I’ll be able to store all my music >750GB in lossless on a 1TB iPod. Crazy? maybe. A waste? Not to an audiophile that doesn’t think 16bit/44K is enough (yes I know the S-N theorem).

The card was easy to install. Using the iFixit guide it took less than 20minutes, but I’m a veteran tech, so your mileage my vary.

I would recommend this item to a friend! Customer Videos:
