Toshiba Storage Device Division offers a line of 5,400 RPM 2.5-inch HDDs optimized for industry-leading storage applications. This latest Toshiba Aquarius HDD, the MQ01ABD150, provides 1.5TB of capacity in a 12.5-millimeter-high design.

The advanced MQ01ABD150 targets markets such as portable multimedia and gaming notebooks, mobile workstations and other capacity-hungry applications like external HDDs. In addition, this drive also features very good power efficiency. Due to the "Silent-Seek" technology featured in these drives, the HDDs are extremely quiet: Ultra-silent single-platter drives boast acoustic specifications of 19dBA (seek) and 17dBA (idle) making them almost indistinguishable to the human hear.

As with all Toshiba HDDs, the complete Aquarius series is halogen-free and RoHS compatible, therefore, exceptionally environmentally friendly.
IMPORTANT OWC NOTES:
  1. Only the MacBook White Unibody Late 2009 / Mid 2010, 13" or 15" MacBook Pro Unibody (2008-2012), and 17" MacBook Pro (2006-2011) models can accommodate a 12.5mm tall drive. For PC owners consult system specifications for maximum allowable drive height before attempting to install. (See compatibility tab for more info)
  2. Drive not compatible for use in MacBook or MacBook Pro Optical Bays via Data Doubler. 9.5mm Required for Optical Bay.
