    Rating: 5/5 great for what it is March 19, 2018 After upgrading my internal ssd drive I found out that I also needed a powered charging hub since the USB hub on the monitor didn't supply enough of the power needed and I got the drive ejected improperly every time the monitor went to sleep. so far no complaints. It looks sturdy enough to last some time.

The power connection and the USB-in connection are on the same side so the cord clutter is minimal. The hub functions very well and is well made.

    Rating: 5/5 I have gotten good use from the USB 3.0 hub January 13, 2015 I have only had this USB 3.0 hub for a couple of months now. It is really handy for being able to plug in all the USB devices without having to fiddle around the back of the iMac.

    I really like the charge feature of the one 2.0 Amp charge only port also.

    Some Apple devices charge from the 2.0 Amp dedicated charge port and other Apple devices don't. I am able to charge my iPad 2, but not my iPod touch 4th generation. iPod tells me that "this accessory charger is not compatible". It is not a problem as I can charge the iPod touch from the data USB 3.0 ports with no problem.

    I have also been using external hard drives with no issues at all.

    I am very happy with this USB hub.

I did not benchmark the transfer speed, but it worked very fast, especially when I had two large transfers across four devices, all on the hub.

    I don't like the fact that, if I'm charging my iPad on the 2 amp charging port (red), it will NOT sync with my iMac. I knew this before I purchased, but after using it for a while now, I do get tired of having to switch ports to accomplish both.

    Having said that, this hub is extremely well built and quite reliable. I am happy I have it.
