Warranty Information (Enterprise Level)
OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2
The OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 Enterprise Solution employs Enterprise level hard drives. Enterprise level drives undergo greater quality control at the factory and are engineered to tighter specifications so they can better handle 24/7 use. In addition, to keep the integrity of the RAID, we guarantee we will replace any problematic drive(s) with the same manufacturer. If we are unable to send the same model, we will replace all the drives with equivalent or better components.

By using Enterprise drives and offering the following enhanced warranty coverage, the OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 Enterprise Solution not only provides the maximum in flexibility and performance, but also the maximum in dependability.

Limited warranty: 5 years parts and 3 years labor
While the highest quality components are used, failures, however unlikely, can occur. In those rare instances, our warranty will help get you back up and running as quickly as possible. For 5 years, we cover case and drive failure due to manufacturer defect (OWC is not responsible for drive data*). If a component in the case such as the fan were to malfunction, we would replace it. If one or more of the drives were to fail, we would replace them. Misuse or accidental damage is not covered by the OWC warranty.

Please read the manual carefully before using and feel free to contact our technical support if you have any questions. All repairs or replacements will use same or similar components equal to or better than the originals.

Once the first two years have elapsed, parts are covered, but labor will be a $45 minimum charge and $90 an hour thereafter. Only actual bench time is counted and final cost is dependent upon the situation. You will be provided a good faith estimate on final cost after the $45 charge.

Drive advance ship warranty: 1 year
If, in the first year, you have any product failure, we will overnight** advance ship you the proper replacement components. This will help you get back up and running by the next business day, excluding weekends and national holidays. If you need it faster than that, please call one of our representatives for pricing and information on same day shipping, Monday through Friday, not including national shipping holidays. Advance ships require a credit card for authorization and have additional terms.
Level 1 Data Recovery: 3 years
If, at any time during the first 3 years, you experience a drive problem and need the information off the drive, you can send it to us for Level 1 recovery services. This means we will use various software programs in an attempt to extract the data. If we are successful, we will move the data to a new drive and send it back to you. Depending upon the situation and the amount of data involved, it could take up to a week for this process. Please note that we do not offer Level 1 recovery services on a mirrored RAID unless it is the result of interface board or bridge failure.

If we are unable to recover the data, you will have three options. First, if the data exists in other locations or is not mission critical, we can simply send you a replacement drive. Second, if it is necessary to retrieve the data, we can send it to a certified drive recovery center at your request. We do not cover the cost of the recovery or the shipping to the data recovery center, but can facilitate by providing a report on the results of our efforts. Third, we can send the drive back to you and you can then send it to the data recovery center of your choice. Please keep in mind that if the recovery center is not certified by the drive's manufacturer, you will not be able to get a replacement hard drive.

**Applies to customers in the 48 contiguous United States. While we will ship to customers in Hawaii and Alaska right away, it might take an extra day to arrive.
