Schedule Manager — It's Your Mac Maintenance Autopilot

Let's face it, it's tough to remember to do important periodic tasks. That's why we created the new SpeedTools Schedule Manager. Now, you won't have to remember to take care of your Mac! You can schedule Bootable Disk and Important Folder Backups, File Defragmentation and Bad Sector Monitoring and Repair with just a few mouse clicks. Plus, you can have SpeedTools automatically shut your system down or put it to sleep when a task completes.

Alerts and Notifications — It's Your Early Warning System

All hard disks fail eventually. The only real question is when. SpeedTools Utilities will vigilantly monitor your internal drives and alert you at the first sign of trouble, both locally and remotely. Often, providing valuable extra time to backup your data before your drive fails. SpeedTools can also warn you when disk space becomes low with adjustable settings for each disk.

Compatibility

All SpeedTools features are fully compatible with MacOS Extended (HFS+) volumes. Plus, the following features will work with virtually every other read/write filesystem too (MacOS Standard, UFS and DOS for example): Scan/Repair Bad Sectors, Test Data Transfer Integrity, All Benchmark features, Device and Volume Information, Alias and Symbolic Link Repair, Analyze Disk Usage, Preference File Inspector and Free Space Monitoring.

Downloading Updates is Easy

With SpeedTools Utilities 3, we've created a whole new way to get software updates and notify you of new versions. No more logging into Intech's website and remembering order numbers or passwords. Now, it's all built in!

Standard Updates

Features

Defragment Files — Defragmenting your files can dramatically improve file access performance and will make files more recoverable should your hard disk crash or directory damaged occur. And, defragmenting with SpeedTools is safe and fast!
Scan / Repair Bad Sectors — Scan for Bad Sectors in files or your entire volume. If a bad sector is found, options will be provided to repair the sector. Additionally, SpeedTools can tell you which file the the sector has damaged.
Test Data Transfer Integrity — This powerful test will verify your hard disk's ability to reliably read and write precise data patterns repeatedly. This test is unbeatable at detecting even the smallest issue with cables, connections and other hardware components.
Benchmark Device & Volume Performance — We didn't just create a basic benchmark feature like everyone else, we created a full benchmark utility suite! Now, you can see the whole performance picture.
Backup and Restore — SpeedTools provides full volume backups to disk images and to other disks for a completely bootable level of backup protection.
S.M.A.R.T. Diagnostics — With the integrated SMART Alert system you can have SpeedTools automatically monitor all of your disks and warn you of problems via an alert message, status menu or email.
Find / Repair Broken Aliases — It's common for Alias and Symbolic Link files to loose track of their target file item. SpeedTools will find these broken links, tell you what the original target item was and allow you to remove or repair the link with a click of a button.
Verify and Repair Volume — Do you have a disk or volume that won't mount, have applications or files that can't be opened, or have other unexplainable problems? Often, these types of filesystem related issues can be easily repaired by SpeedTools.
Analyze Disk Usage — Stop wondering where all your disk space is going. SpeedTools will show you how much of your disk space is used by music, photos and other files. SpeedTools can also find those large downloaded files that you forgot to throw away.
Preference File Inspector — SpeedTools will scan entire disks or a specified folder to locate broken Preference files (.plist files) and provide options to repair or remove them.
Device / Volume Information — View and export detailed information about your connected devices and volumes. See read/write operation counts and time statistics, firmware revision, device serial numbers and many other unique features and attributes.
Volume Options and Settings — SpeedTools provides the ability to monitor free space levels on any writable, local disk that you choose. Additionally, each disk may have its own individual low disk space setting.
Activity Logs — SpeedTools can provide you with a complete summary of each task outcome, including each scheduled task.

Rating: 5/5 Bootable backup!! July 10, 2015 I wondered at first why I should get this product. I've been satisfied with every version of Tech Tools Pro and then realized that although it backed up the directory - it didn't backup the data on the entire drive. But wait Apple took care of that with Time Machine right? Almost but the operating system has to be functional for Time Machine to work and read Time Macine created data. Which means that in a real crisis none of Time Machines backups can be restored without extremely careful preparation and even then those backups are not as convenient as a bootable backup emergency drive.

This software does a great job doing not only what Tech Tools Pro does, but it goes the extra distance making any external drive a bootable emergency backup drive! Also this particular version of Speed Tools with be updated continuously without further costs by the consumer! That's a a great deal!!

Rating: 4/5 Versatile, and does the Job! January 28, 2014 This is my first experience with a Disk Utility Tool SW, I got it to run tests, and to examine a faulty 2TB external HDD. It helped, and also determined specific sectors that were wrong. Although it doesn't offer more utilities like backup, cloning and all that you can get from other SWs, it does the job good. I still use it for benchmark, and to examine drives. Nice and easy interface.
