Q: How do I tell what iPod I have?
A: If your iPod plugs in to charge via a cable at the TOP, you have a 1st or 2nd generation iPod. If your iPod plugs in via a DOCK CONNECTOR at the bottom and it's control buttons are above the scroll wheel, you have a 3rd generation iPod. If your controls are integrated into the scroll wheel, you have a 4th generation iPod and this battery will work fine. Batteries for other models are available here.
