Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB hard drives: Currently, Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB hard drives are not recommended for use in Newer Technology FireWire enclosures due to a firmware problem with the drive and the enclosure. We are in contact with both Seagate and Oxford regarding this issue and will update this tech note once the issue has been corrected. Currently, while the 1.5TB does operate and function in single drive Newer Technology FireWire enclosures, and as 2 independent drives in dual bay Newer Technology FireWire enclosures, performance is below acceptable levels and therefore we do not recommend the use of them at this time. |
