3V Lithium CR2032 Coin Cell
PRAM Computer Clock Battery

For Select Mac Computers and Apple Remotes
Many Macintosh computers contain an internal backup battery to maintain system settings, such as the date and time, when the computer is turned off. This NewerTech battery is made from high-quality, Panasonic cells and may last up to five years though actual life is determined by shelf life of the battery and usage patterns of the computer. The batteries used in the Macintosh computers listed below are lithium 3V "coin cell" batteries.

When the computer does not retain PRAM settings (such as the date and time) after it has been turned off, this generally indicates a dead battery. See the compatibility tab for which models this CR2032 battery can be found in.
This battery is an exact replacement for the CR2032, 922-6476 or 922-8802 coin cell batteries found in... Learn how to find your Mac's model ID

Rating: 5/5 Battery November 27, 2015 It is a battery. I got it as an add-on to an ordered. I figured my original battery was over five years old and I should replace it before it goes bad.

I would recommend this item to a friend!

Rating: 5/5 It's just a common battery, but... November 26, 2014 If I'm installing something (for my Mac) internally, I consider changing the PRAM battery at the same time. For example, I just added an internal SSD into my 2011 Mac mini. It's a VERY "involved" procedure, and I prefer NOT to ever do it again. Might as well replace the PRAM battery with a fresh one while I'm in there.

OWC's low price makes it affordable to "change it, just in case." And OWC probably sells enough of these so that the one I get has not been sitting on a shelf for a few years.

This battery also works in the old white Apple Remote Control that came with a 2006 iMac (it still works with my Mac mini); I'll keep the working battery I took out of my Mac as a replacement for the remote.

I would recommend this item to a friend!
